Time of Presentation:      10:30 am -  Noon

Summary of presentation:

A third of women complain about low sexual desire and over 15% of men report the same concern.  The two people in a

relationship are bound to have differential levels of desire, which often leads to conflict.  This presentation will

demystify how to explore and treat low sexual desire and differential levels of desire in individual and couple

therapy.  Causes for low sexual desire will be discussed and resources for improving sexual communication, intimacy,

and satisfaction will be provided.

Sexual Health and Intimacy: Identifying and resolving common barriers to sexual satisfaction and intimacy.

Presented October 2007 for the Women's Wellness Conference Sunriver Resort, OR and sponsored by the St. Charles Medical Center.

Workshop Description:

Would you like greater sexual satisfaction?  Do you have questions about low sexual desire or changes in sexuality as you age?  Are you curious about the products on the market advertised to enhance sexual functioning?  Are you wondering how you can balance work, family, and still maintain a satisfying sexual life?

This presentation will address important issues in female sexuality, including differences between female and male sexual response.  Common complaints related to poor sexual functioning will be discussed, such as low desire or desire discrepancies within a couple.  The effects of aging, medication, illness, and hormones on sexual functioning will be explored.  Suggestions will be given on how to enhance sexual satisfaction; resources will be provided for further exploration of these issues either independently or with a professional trained in sexual health.
